Jorryn's 6th Birthday

Today was Jorryn's b-day. As always I have big "ideas" for celebrating and usually start thinking about them with plenty of time to prepare but for some odd reason I don't do a thing until a few days before the big event. The day before is more accurate. Jorryn is a huge Star Wars fan right now and light sabers are his favorite toy. He'd really like a real one which will be a dad and son project to try someday. I had visions of grandeur for his cake-a light saber. It was fun to make and he was thrilled with it. Someday maybe I'll take a cake decorating class and learn how to do it the right way but for now I wasn't completely disappointed with my results-unfortunately I was to concerned with it's looks that I put a bit too much sugar crystals on-woops-even kids have their sugar limit.
It was a beautiful day and we had family and close friends to enjoy it with. The kids had a blast getting Jer with the confetti sprayers. He's such a big kid. Next we had to have a battle so the kids locked themselves in the tower with their bucket full of water grenades while the adults and Alyona stormed it from the ground. It didn't take Jer and Sean long to climb the walls and attack. It was so much fun to watch and I think you can tell from the pictures that it was just as much fun to get splat. We found that we had one casualty of the day-Ana's tooth. The good thing is that she wasn't even aware that she'd lost it. The tooth fairy will have fun trying to figure out how to compensate her.

Side note from Jer:
When there is a slight breeze outside and the candles on the cake really need to be lit, I can only think of one sure way to light them...blow torch! Yeah, that's right. I think Tonya was a little worried about what I was doing to the cake at first. Heh heh...great day, lots of fun.
